Local Las Vegas Barber Celebrates One Year in Business with Halloween Trunk-or-Treat Anniversary Bash

Amity A Hair Place welcomes the community for a Halloween celebration featuring cars, costumes, candy and a special appearance by Robert Banghart of Shine a Light.

LAS VEGAS, NV — October 2026 — One year in business is worth celebrating, and Felicia Aranda, owner of Amity A Hair Place, is inviting the Las Vegas community to celebrate with her!

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., Amity A Hair Place will host its Trunk-or-Treat Anniversary Bash at 1112 E. Bonneville Ave. in Las Vegas. The free community celebration will feature a trunk-or-treat, car show, music, spooky movies, popcorn and Halloween fun for the whole family. Guests are encouraged to come in costume and join the festivities.

For Aranda, the event is about more than marking a business milestone. It is a celebration of the people, partnerships and community that have welcomed her business and helped it grow during its first year.

“Being in business for one year in Las Vegas means so much to me, especially knowing that my business has become part of this vibrant Downtown community,” said Aranda. “We’ve had the opportunity to meet amazing Las Vegas locals, as well as incredible people visiting our city and exploring everything that Downtown and the Arts District have to offer.”

The shop itself has become part of the neighborhood’s visual landscape. Local artists The Good Fellas transformed the building with their artwork, making the location an attraction in its own right and reflecting the creative energy found throughout Downtown Las Vegas.

During its first year, Amity A Hair Place has continued to grow, recently welcoming Marco, a new barber, and Jasmine, a braider and scalp specialists to the team.

Celebrating Community, Connection and Recovery

The anniversary celebration will also welcome Robert Banghart, Vice President of Community Integration for Shine a Light, a Las Vegas nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use challenges connect with recovery resources, supportive services and opportunities to rebuild their lives.

For Aranda, supporting the sober and recovery community is an important part of creating a business that welcomes people from all walks of life. The relationship with Shine a Light reflects a shared belief that strong communities are built through compassion, connection and showing up for one another.

“Recovery is about so much more than sobriety. It’s about connection, belonging and having a community that believes in you. When a local business like Amity A Hair Place opens its doors and embraces the sober community, it sends a powerful message that everyone deserves to feel welcomed, supported and valued. We’re proud to celebrate Felicia’s first year in business and grateful to be part of a Downtown community where businesses are helping create opportunities for people to thrive.”

Aranda believes that local businesses have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference beyond the services they provide.

“Having Robert and Shine a Light join us for our anniversary means a lot to me. I believe a business should be more than a place where people come for a service. It should be a place where people feel welcome, respected and connected. Supporting the sober community and the work Shine a Light does is one more way we can give back to the city that has welcomed us.”

A Business Built on Family, Passion and Community

Originally from New Mexico, Aranda brings years of experience and dedication to her profession. She has been a cosmetologist for 12 years and a barber for nine years. Opening her own business in Las Vegas allowed her to combine her professional experience with something equally important to her: creating a welcoming neighborhood space where people can connect.

That sense of community is especially meaningful to Aranda as she raises her son, Matias, in Las Vegas.

“I’m proud to raise my son here and let him experience the culture, the people and what community really means,” Aranda said. “This city has given us so much to appreciate. Our anniversary is a chance to say thank you, celebrate together and have some Halloween fun while we’re at it.”

The Trunk-or-Treat Anniversary Bash is open to the community. Families, neighbors, clients and visitors are invited to stop by, wear their favorite costumes, enjoy the festivities and help Amity A Hair Place celebrate its first year — and the beginning of many more.
