A Columbus Chef Wants To Treat Your Friend Group To A Free Italian Friendsgiving Dinner

Posted

Every friend group has one person who makes everything happen.

They organize the group chat, host the holiday gatherings, remember everyone’s birthday, and somehow manage to get everyone in the same room. Now, one Columbus chef wants to give that person a little recognition.

Chef BJ Lieberman, the James Beard Award semifinalist behind Metsi’s Wood-Fired Italian in the Short North, is inviting Central Ohioans to nominate a deserving friend for a complimentary Italian Friendsgiving dinner for eight.

The winning nominee and up to seven guests will enjoy a specially curated, multi-course dinner in The Parlor, Metsi’s private dining room. It’s a chance to celebrate the friend who always shows up for everyone else, preferably with plenty of pasta involved.

How To Nominate Someone For Italian Friendsgiving At Metsi’s

Think of the friend who keeps your crew connected, takes on the work of hosting, or makes Friendsgiving a tradition worth looking forward to every year? You can nominate them by filling out Metsi’s online nomination form and explaining why they deserve to be celebrated.

Nominations close at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29.

The selected nominee can invite up to seven guests to join them for dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 4, or Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026. The meal itself is complimentary, but gratuity is not included, and the winning party will be responsible for the tip. Alcohol is also excluded from the prize and must be purchased separately.

So, if there’s a friend in your life who deserves a night off from being the planner, the host, and the person who makes sure everyone else is having a good time, this might be their excuse to finally sit back and enjoy the meal.
